Verisity Announces SpeXsim, First Combined Product with Axis Technology to Further Broaden Target Market
SpeXsim Integrates Verisity's Flagship Specman with Axis' Xsim to Provide Industry's Most Compelling Value
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 2004 -- Verisity Ltd. (Nasdaq:VRST), the leading supplier of Verification Process Automation (VPA) solutions, today announced the first product that integrates Verisity technology with technology acquired from Axis Systems. The new product package will enable Verisity to penetrate key portions of the larger EDA simulation market. The package, called SpeXsim(TM), integrates Verisity's flagship Specman Elite(R) with its third-generation Xsim(R) simulator. This cost effective and technically superior package will enable more of the mainstream engineering community to adopt Verisity's world-class technology. It will also enable Verisity's existing customers to more cost effectively proliferate Verisity solutions.
SpeXsim is the first product that integrates Verisity's Verification Process Automation (VPA) technologies with the recently acquired scalable infrastructure technologies from Axis Systems. Verisity also recently announced breakthrough "behavioral processing" technology that will later be used to uniquely combine SpeXsim with the Axis hardware-based acceleration, emulation and hardware/software co-verification solutions.
"The combination of Specman Elite and Xsim provides tremendous productivity, quality, and predictability to our customers, while reducing their simulation investments by approximately fifty percent," said Moshe Gavrielov, chief executive officer for Verisity. "This enables a broader set of the engineering community to adopt our world-class solutions, dramatically increasing our market potential."
SpeXsim is a direct integration between Specman Elite and Axis' Xsim mixed-language simulator, offering high performance, out-of-the-box interoperability and ease of installation. In addition SpeXsim will be tightly integrated with Verisity's SureCov(TM) code coverage and leading debug solutions such as Novas. Verisity is committed to interoperability and supporting and enhancing high-quality integrations with all other third-party simulators and Specman Elite.
Integrating Third-Generation Simulation
The Xsim simulator is a third-generation simulator that was developed by Axis Systems to support the highest performance event-based simulation of the standard HDLs, and then seamlessly migrate from the workstation to high-speed hardware engines for acceleration, emulation and hardware/software co-verification. Since it was developed, Xsim has been used on over 500 projects, and has simulated customer designs of over 50 million gates. Verisity is now integrating this cutting-edge simulation technology into its multiple packages within its VPA product portfolio to provide customers with a more complete solution and the highest value for their verification investments.
"Verisity is delivering on the promise of Verification Process Automation," said Syed Zaidi, vice president of engineering at NeoMagic Corporation. "NeoMagic's MiMagic Application Processor family is focused on enabling the most advanced multimedia applications on mobile phones, personal digital assistants and other wireless handheld devices," Zaidi continued. "To stay on the leading edge of this rapidly evolving market it is critical that we utilize robust tools like SpeXsim. SpeXsim truly scales throughout our verification process, from the block, to the system and project level. Verisity is the one EDA company that was able to support our needs."
Pricing and Availability
SpeXsim will be available on platforms running Solaris and RedHat Linux in the third quarter of 2004. The price is $33,000 U.S. for a time-based license and maintenance.
