Faraday Announces the Addition Of Three Debug Tools For Its FA500 Series RISC Processors
- Lauterbach’s Trace32TM-ICD debug tools
- EPI’s MAJICTM debug tools
- Faraday’s proprietary High Speed ICE – F-ICE
The MAJIC ICETM provides a high-speed hardware interface between FA526 and industry standard debuggers, including EPI’s EDB debugger, ARM’s AXD debugger, and any RDI 1.5.1 compliant third party debuggers. EPI’s EDB is a Windows-based GUI debugger that provides the best-in-class support for software debugging, BSP development, and driver and kernel debugging. The combination of MAJIC ICE TM and EDB debugger is ideal for interfacing with the on-chip debug logic to deliver a high-performance debug capability.
"Our support for the Faraday FA526 core proves that EPI has unsurpassed ability to provide an end-to-end debug solution for any ARM licensee. We are looking forward to Faraday’s successful product introduction and to support many customers this new design would attract!”, said Claude Chalouhi, Vice President of worldwide Sales for Embedded Performance, Inc."
The F-ICE is the most cost-effective ICE solution for FA500 family. It is a JTAG like interface that is applicable for both Faraday’s FA510 and FA526 RISC processors. It supports ARM’s RDI interface and works seamlessly with ARM’s ADS and Realview Developer Suite. The tool improves the download speed via USB 2.0 port. Its deliverables include a Parser board, USB drivers, RDI driver, and one connecting cable.
