Virtual Silicon Adds Michael J. Callahan to Board of Directors
Sunnyvale, Calif. - May 10, 2004 - Virtual Silicon Technology, Inc., a leader in semiconductor intellectual property, today announced that industry veteran Michael J. Callahan has joined the board of directors of the company. Callahan also serves on the boards of Quicklogic and Teknovus.
Callahan brings to Virtual Silicon a wealth of executive management experience in the semiconductor industry. Mike is the retired chairman, president and CEO of Waferscale Integration, a supplier of programmable system devices, where he served from 1990 to 2000. Previously, Mike was the president of the Monolithic Memories subsidiary of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) from 1987 to 1990. Before the acquisition by AMD, Callahan held various positions at Monolithic Memories (MMI) from 1978 to 1987, including executive vice president and chief operating officer. Before joining MMI, Mike spent 16 years at Motorola Semiconductor. Callahan holds a B.S.E.E. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and did graduate work at Arizona State University (ASU). Prior to attending MIT, Mike was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
