Verisity and Cascade Semiconductor Solutions Team to Reduce Risk, Increase Quality for PCI Express Designs
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 2004-- Verisity Ltd. (NASDAQ:VRST), the leading supplier of Verification Process Automation (VPA) solutions, and Cascade Semiconductor Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of interoperable intellectual property (IP) solutions for the PCI Express market, today announced that the companies have successfully integrated their PCI Express IP solutions. The companies have integrated Verisity's PCI Express verification IP together with Cascade's PCI Express design IP to ensure that mutual customers reduce risk and turn out higher quality PCI Express-based designs. The integrated solution also ensures compliance with the PCI-SIG checklist and interoperability with other PCI Express systems.
Verisity's PCI Express e Verification Component (eVC) is an automated, coverage-driven verification IP component. It provides a complete verification environment, including a constrained random traffic generator that automatically creates wide-ranging scenarios, nearly eliminating the need for directed tests. The PCI Express eVC generates sufficient scenarios to automatically achieve 90%+ coverage for the PCI Express bus and all of its interactions in the full-chip environment. In addition, the eVC ensures verification completeness through its integrated coverage model and coverage metrics. The eVC also ensures designs comply with the PCI-SIG checklist through its integrated PCI-SIG Compliance Coverage Suite. Through this coverage suite, the eVC ensures that all compliance checks are not only exercised, but are exercised in the context of multiple real-life scenarios.
Cascades CX-PL family of PCI Express cores provide a complete PCI Express port implementation including the Transaction Layer, Data Link Layer and Physical Layer implementations, and are based on the CascadeExpress(TM) architecture. The IP cores may be configured to address lane configurations from x1 to x16, based on application requirements; including applications ranging from power and area sensitive Mobile/NEWCARD implementations up to high performance, low latency solutions for graphics or system IO/communications. The CascadeExpress(TM) architecture allows for quick integration into the end-user's SOC. Support modules are provided with the core to ease this integration and allow for an optimal partitioning for application specific customization requirements without impacting the PCI Express compliant implementation of the Port Logic. These include support for application logic interfacing, configuration space support, and SerDes integration from multiple PCI Express SerDes core providers. Designed with conservative timing, the CX-PL architecture is positioned to address both FPGA and ASIC applications.
