TAK'ASIC to showcase blazing fast system-on-chip printer solution for Computex IT show
Featured during International IT Show, June 1-5
SAN MATEO, Calif., May 27, 2004 -TAK'ASIC, a leading innovator in dedicated imaging processors and solutions, will demonstrate cost-optimized GDI-based color laser printer solutions showcasing the speed and flexibility of its TAKPRO-800 SOC during next week's COMPUTEX International IT Show in Taipei, Taiwan, June 1-5, 2004.
"Solutions like the TAKPRO-800 are fueling a growing array of increasingly affordable, high-performance imaging products that will be on full display at this year's COMPUTEX show," said TAK'ASIC CEO Doug Goodyear. "For demanding applications such as photo printing, our new SOC lets OEMs deliver the performance and quality that customers require today while lowering overall development costs."
Benchmark Setting Performance
The TAKPRO-800 high performance demonstration will feature both tandem and multi-pass print engine support at very fast throughput rates. Standard setting print speeds of up to 40ppm color on tandem engines at resolution of up to 4,800 dpi are fully supported by the TAKPRO-800. Powered by an ARM® 946E 32-bit CPU with 8 KB instruction cache and 8 KB data cache, the TAKPRO-800 enables virtually any potential OEM implementation - from laser printer to MFP- with its unique combination of performance and features.
Flexible Platform for Multiple Imaging Devices
The TAKPRO-800 utilizes an open, PCI-based raster printer architecture optimized for cost competitiveness. The robust scalability and flexibility of the TAKPRO-800 enables OEMs to provide a range of MFP capabilities as options to standard/basic printer models. The TAKRDK reference design kit offers a highly flexible design and enables OEMs to rapidly deliver multiple price/performance imaging devices using a single, low cost platform. To further reduce development costs, every function required for OEMs to design a full-blown printer controller has been integrated into the TAK'ASIC SOC.
A cost-effective ready-to-market development board features the TAKPRO-800 with 32 MB (64 optional) of SDRAM, flash memory and multiple interfaces for Ethernet, USB and serial connectivity. During COMPUTEX the company will also demonstrate a direct digital camera-to-print capability using the connectivity supported by the TAKPRO-800. The TAKPRO-800 is a powerful solution to print digital photographs at breakthrough speed. TAK'ASIC works closely with OEMs to provide a range of turnkey hardware and software solutions to meet specific requirements.
