TriCN and Tallika Announce Collaboration on Interoperable Full PCI Express Solution
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - June 8, 2004 - TriCN, a leading developer of intellectual property (IP) for high-speed semiconductor interface technology, and Tallika Corporation, a leading provider of Silicon Intellectual Property and Professional Services for consumer, networking, computing, and storage markets, today announced that they have been working on a collaborative effort that will demonstrate the interoperability of their PCI Express IP solutions. The effort is targeted at delivering a seamless integrated low risk solution to IC developers.
TriCN's PCI-Express PHY and Tallika's PCI-Express Endpoint Controller provide a compelling set of features for developers seeking to incorporate a complete PCI-Express solution into their design. TriCN's PHY's offer the most area and power efficient designs in the industry, including a true X1 lane configuration. Tallika's PCI-Express Endpoint Controller features a complete implementation of PCI-Express Transaction, Data Link, MAC-PHY and Configuration layers for endpoint devices, with extremely low latency, and the industry's lowest RAM instance count solution.
"We are excited about working with the Tallika team to provide a full PCI-Express solution.," said Ron Nikel, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of TriCN. "They have demonstrated great skill at developing technology targeted towards complex high-bandwidth applications, such as communications and security. Their PCI-Express Endpoint combined with the TriCN PCI-Express PHY will solve a great need for this and many other markets."
"We chose TriCN as a PCI-Express PHY partner based on their track record as high performance interface specialists," said Satish Anand, Co-Founder and CTO of Tallika Corporation. "Their small area, low power PCI-Express PHY design is an excellent match for our low latency Endpoint Controller. We believe the combination will be extremely attractive to customers."
Availability
TriCN's PCI-Express PHY is currently available in the TSMC 130nm process. The combined offering of TriCN's PCI-Express PHY and Tallika's PCI-Express Endpoint Controller will be available Q3 2004.
