MindTree announced BQB v1.2 qualification of Bluetooth Protocol Stack
The EtherMind solution includes mature, product-proven, highly interoperable Bluetooth Stack and a wide range of profiles, and is available as hosted and embedded solutions with leading Bluetooth baseband chips and operating systems. EtherMind software is well known for its small foot-print, low MIPS and ease of integration with variety of custom applications. Together with BlueWiz Baseband IP and MUTE-BT application rapid-prototyping & test software, the EtherMind V1.2 brings to the OEMs, a complete Bluetooth solution from a single source.
“With its strong focus on Bluetooth technology and the IP based product realization approach, MindTree is strongly poised as an industry leader in licensing its Bluetooth components,” says S. Janakiraman, CEO & President, MindTree R&D Services, “ As users increasingly demand more features for less cost, MindTree’s IPs co-operate with the chip and solution vendors to make sure they remain on the forefront of the competition in terms of quality, cost and time.”
MindTree also displayed Bluetooth BlueWiz 1.2 - the most complete version of Bluetooth Baseband Controller. Compliant to v1.2, BQB qualified and proven in silicon, MindTree’s Baseband Controller has been implemented in several customer designs. Application domains include Hand-held devices, Automotive applications, Consumer appliances & Protocol Test Equipments.
“With increasing pressure on the chip makers and module vendors to reduce cost and time-to-market,” says Vinod Deshmukh, CTO & Sr. VP - R&D Services, “best path to tread is to integrate the interface technology within the chip rather than going for some external hardware. MindTree’s BlueWiz 1.2 is the right answer to this approach as it can be integrated within silicon effectively by virtue of its very low gate count, low MIPS requirement, minimum code size as well as effective power saving features. Being highly portable and configurable to different hardware and software platforms, BlueWiz is appropriate for Bluetooth enablement of applications like GPS, wLAN, Mobile as well as other Microcontroller based chip solutions.”
MindTree has sold more than 20 licenses of its products in the last three years, and its software is shipped as a standard embedded option with global silicon vendors. MindTree’s software products are integrated into cell phones, computer mice, keyboards and headsets (hands-free) of leading brand names from USA, Japan, Europe and Korea.
MindTree also offers its world-class, design-engineering services to build prototypes for Bluetooth-enabled devices, leveraging its global delivery model and technology expertise to help clients bring their products to market faster.
