Ambarella licenses the World's First Standard SD MMC 4.0 Host Controller IP core from Arasan Chip Systems
San Jose, CA -- Aug 31, 2004 -- Ambarella, a company providing ASIC’s for Consumer Products has licensed the Standard SD MMC 4.0 Host Controller IP Core from Arasan Chip Systems for use in its chipsets. Arasan is the first company Worldwide to have launched this IP product.
The MMC 4.0 Specification was released by the MMCA in Feb 2004. The key feature of the MMC 4.0 specification is the Wider 8-bit bus width providing the 52 Mbyte/sec of data transfer, which is the highest of any flash card.
Arasan also sells its Host Controller in the form of a Hardware Development Kit with BSquare drivers for Win CE 4.2 and full compatibility with Microsoft Win CE 5.0,> Win 2K & XP. Over 10 customers worldwide currently use the HDK as a driver development platform and a production tester.About Ambarella >
