ARC and EVE Team to Accelerate SoC Development Times
SAN JOSE, Calif., October 25, 2004 – ARC International (LSE: ARK), the world leader in configurable CPU/DSP processor cores and subsystems, today announced that it has teamed with EVE (Emulation and Verification Engineering), an innovator in advanced verification technologies, to provide cost-effective verification solutions for configurable SoC designs. EVE will provide integrated verification systems to customers allowing them to download ARC-based SoC designs into EVE's FPGA-based hardware development platform for more rapid design verification. Furthermore, ARC's MetaWare® debugger will be integrated into EVE's ZeBu hardware-based verification product to improve simulation and system debugging, and to provide hardware/software co-verification.
EVE's unique approach to verification improves transfer rates by up to 10 times when compared to traditional emulation technologies. The tight integration of EVE's ZeBu platform with ARC's software tools reduces total development cost and accelerates time-to-silicon at a lower price when compared to high-end emulation systems.
"Verification of any SoC design is a key driver of schedule and cost," said Derek Meyer, ARC's vice president of marketing. "The combination of ARC's configurable cores and development tools with EVE's hardware-based verification system, delivers an easy-to-use platform that provides fast, functional verification. We consider ZeBu to be the ideal development platform for ARC-based SoCs."
"Embedded systems are becoming pervasive and ARC will certainly benefit from the trend," added Lauro Rizzatti, EVE's vice president of marketing. "This partnership gives ARC-based SoC designers a powerful hardware-assisted validation solution to thoroughly test the design hardware and to start software validation ahead of first-pass silicon to accelerate time-to-market and beat the competition."
Availability
EVE's ZeBu verification platform integrated with ARC's MetaWare debug tools is available from EVE and sells for US $29,000.
