Fujitsu Siemens Computers Signs Licensing Agreement to Access picoTurbo Embedded RISC Microprocessor Cores
Milpitas, California - February 28, 2001 - picoTurbo, Inc., a premier developer of 16/32-bit RISC microprocessor cores for embedded applications, and Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European computer company, announced today a licensing agreement giving Fujitsu Siemens Computers access to picoTurbo microprocessor technology. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is licensing picoTurbo?s pT-100 and pT-110 microprocessor cores, which they will utilize in SOCs (System on Chip) for their advanced product lines. The cores are 32-bit, proven, high-performance, low-power cores.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers will have access to two of the most popular microprocessor cores in the picoTurbo family of cores. Both highly featured, the pT-100 contains a five-stage pipeline for one instruction/cycle and code compression, among many others. In addition to the aforementioned features, the pT-110 contains a built-in cache controller. A new class of digital applications in several of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers? product lines, ranging from notebooks to mainframes, will be enabled by these core microprocessor solutions. New products will also be developed.
