LSI Logic Launches Most Comprehensive Offering Of Voice-Over-Ip Solutions

MILPITAS, Calif. - November 15, 2004 - LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today officially launched its Z.Voice( line of Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) solutions. The Z.Voice product line is the industry's most comprehensive offering of voice-enabled solutions, including licensable ZSP® processor cores, standard DSP products, off the-shelf industry compliant vocoders, bundled device/software packages and reference designs. Utilizing a variety of industry standard vocoders, including G.711, G.729, G.729A/B and G.723.1, the Z.Voice products enable low-cost, multi-channel VoIP solutions supporting a range of two to 32-channels of VoIP. With Z.Voice, LSI Logic can offer silicon providers and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) complete, cost-effective solutions to accelerate voice-enabled product development for a variety of target applications including voice-over-WiFi in cell phones and cordless phones, voice ports in DSL and cable modems, residential gateways and SOHO routers.

- Four voice-optimized ZSP standard products including the LSI403x and the LSI402ZX
- A complete suite of industry-standard vocoders and application software solutions including G.711, G.729, G.729A/B, G.723.1 and others
- Z.Voice-729 off-the-shelf, bundled silicon/software package based on industry-standard G.711, G.729, G.729A/B vocoders to quickly meet the needs of customers who want to integrate a complete add-on voice solution
- VoIP reference designs including a VoIP Wireless Router, developed with Micrel, Inc., that gives customers a cost-effective and flexible package with complete hardware and software
