Jungo Introduces the First Production-ready Software Solution Optimized for New Intel Voice/Wireless Network Gateway Reference Platform
This Office-in-a-box Solution Provides VoIP, WLAN, Security and Storage in One Integrated Platform
SAN JOSE, Calif., November 16, 2004 - Jungo Software Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of home, SOHO and SMB gateway software, today announced the availability of its OpenRG™ complete Linux-based software platform specifically optimized for the Intel® IXDPG425 Network Gateway Reference Platform. The Jungo and Intel platforms are targeted at OEMs/ODMs developing high quality networking devices for a wide range of broadband applications and services.
The Jungo and Intel platforms provide OEMs with all the hardware, software and documentation information needed to easily bring to market high-performance, next generation business gateways. These devices cover small businesses' entire data, security, and voice communications needs. These platforms will help to reduce overall development time and significantly increase an OEM's ability to get products to market faster.
Quoting from the Instat/MDR report entitled -"The Next-Generation Multi-Service Business Gateway" - "Over the next 12-24 months, In-Stat/MDR anticipates a new breed of multi-service devices will emerge. Designed to support multi-services from the ground up, these devices will form a new product segment that In-Stat/MDR calls the "Business Gateway."
The Business Gateway will be a modular, standards-based device, offering "office-in-a-box" voice and data solutions for small businesses and enterprise branch offices. In-Stat/MDR forecasts the Business Gateway market to grow from $1.2 billion in 2004 to $16.6 billion in 2008. In the process, turning the networking equipment industry upside down.

The Intel IXDPG425 reference platform with Jungo's OpenRG™ software supports a variety of product applications such as SOHO/SMB Firewall/VPN routers, Wireless AP, DSL routers, 4 port Voice gateways, ATAs, Storage routers, NAS and Print servers. The Intel® IXP42X product line of network processors combines the processing capability of an Intel XScale® core with the flexibility and scalability of additional Network Processor Engines (NPEs). These highly integrated network processors combine on-chip integration of voice and data functions, integrated hardware acceleration for security applications and support for multiple WAN and LAN technologies.
