Ittiam Recognised as the World's Most Preferred DSP IP Supplier
Bangalore. November 24, 2004 -- Ittiam Systems today announced that the company has emerged as the world's most preferred supplier of DSP based intellectual property (IP) in both software and hardware categories in the DSP Professionals Survey 2004, conducted by Forward Concepts, U.S.A.
Forward Concepts is a premier market research company specializing in DSP and related segments. It has been covering the markets for DSP in the semiconductor and in the end equipment industries over several years. Beginning 2003 Forward Concepts introduced a special coverage for DSP IP market segment in the software and hardware space. This new initiative underlines the growing demand and importance of independent IP suppliers and the market for the same. Ittiam Systems founded in 2001 is singularly focused in this space of DSP IP. According to the survey, three times the number of professionals chose Ittiam over its nearest competitor for DSP software IP and nearly one and a half times its nearest competitor for DSP hardware IP.
"We are very pleased", said Srini Rajam, chairman and chief executive officer, Ittiam Systems. "The finding is significant in more ways than one. It indicates the value our customers see in Ittiam. It reaffirms our progress towards Ittiam's founding vision of being one of the leading DSP systems companies in the world", he added.
Will Strauss, President and Founder of Forward Concepts congratulated "Ittiam for achieving the #1 rank both in the DSP software IP and DSP hardware IP categories". He further added that "an early identification of the market with a committed follow through by the company has gone a long way in achieving this difficult recognition".
Within three years of starting-up, Ittiam made its way to the first ever preferred DSP IP supplier survey conducted by Forward Concepts last year. Achieving the number one position in the 2004 round of the survey underlines the company's continued commitment and success in the DSP IP space.
