Altera Uses Verisity's Plug-and-Play Components to Speed Verification of its Intellectual Property
Leading provider of programmable logic accelerates IP verification with Verisity’s e Verification Components
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA. – November 30, 2004 – Verisity Ltd. (NASDAQ:VRST), the leading provider of Verification Process Automation (VPA) solutions, announced that Altera Corporation is using Verisity’s e Verification Components (eVC) to speed functional verification processes for the company’s PCI intellectual property (IP) cores.>
Verisity's eVCs provide a complete module, chip and system-level verification IP solution. Verisity’s expanding library of eVCs now includes more than 15 solutions. Altera will be using Verisity eVCs to reduce the time it takes to compose a verification environment for PCI circuits.
Altera offers an extensive portfolio of standard bus interfaces to allow designers to create chip-to-chip, board-to-board, or box-to-box connectivity in their system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) designs. “There is a great deal of demand for our IP from designers working on specialized PCI applications,” said Justin Cowling, marketing director of Altera’s intellectual property business unit . “We were looking for a technology that would allow us to accelerate our IP verification,” he said. “We believe Verisity has delivered this solution and it will allow us to bring quality IP cores to market quickly."
With eVCs, verification environments are created in days instead of weeks or months. The reusable, configurable and pre-verified components allow test engineers to begin writing tests much earlier, and ultimately, produce a higher quality product.
“We’re extremely pleased to have a relationship with Altera,” said Steve Brown, Verisity director of channel marketing. “We believe that adding a customer as prominent and progressive as Altera is a great testimony to the power of Verisity’s verification methodologies.”
