ChipIdea Mixed-Signal IP Enables Haier-IC SoC products Fast Time-to-Market and High Production Yield
Update: MIPS Technologies Acquires Chipidea (August 27, 2007)
Porto Salvo, Portugal and Beijing, P. R China -- January 13, 2005 -- Haier (Beijing) IC Design Company Ltd has successfully integrated high-speed ADC IP from ChipIdea in their latest System-on-Chip (SoC) products (Hi3102, the channel demodulation for DVB-S). The mixed-signal IP achieved first time tapeout success, allowing Haier to move quickly into full production. The IP adopted by Haier include a dual (I&Q) 6-bit, 100MHz ADC with a 3 gain step PGA input (CI3166xa) and a 10-bit, 54 MHz Pipeline ADC (CI3515tg).“Haier selected ChipIdea based on ChipIdea’s proven track record of high-quality mixed-signal IP design, world’s broadest state-of-the art silicon proven IP portfolio, and customer support infrastructure in Asia. The ADC from ChipIdea have been successfully integrated into our SoC chips with first silicon success. The yield of our SoC chips in production is over 96%. We look forward to further collaboration with ChipIdea” said Mr. Yang, Vice-General Manager of Haier-IC.
“The China semiconductor industry is booming and competition between fabless IC design companies is very strong. It is ChipIdea’s commitment to enhance Haier-IC competitiveness in the market with ChipIdea’s strong design experience in high-performance mixed-signal IP”, said Dr. Jose Franca, CEO of ChipIdea.
