Poseidon Design Systems Appoints Douglas Fairbairn, Industry Notable and Chairman Of Verisity, to its Board Of Directors
“With the addition of Doug, we have brought one of the best talents in the industry to Poseidon’s Board,” said Poseidon CEO and President, Ravi A. K. Janak. “Doug’s experience as founder and senior executive of several semiconductor and EDA companies including, Verisity, VLSI Technology, Cadence, and Redwood Design Automation, help him bring an incomparable mix of entrepreneurial and technological knowledge of the semiconductor and EDA industries.

About Doug Fairbairn
Mr. Fairbairn is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Verisity, Ltd. that was recently acquired by Cadence Design System. Fairbairn, a recognized founder of the ASIC industry and system level design segment of the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry, has over 30 years of executive management experience in these industries. He founded the semiconductor company VLSI Technology, now part of Philips Semiconductor; Redwood Design Automation that was acquired by Cadence Design Systems Inc. (NYSE: CDN); and the magazine VLSI Design. His other positions include, General Manager of the Alta division at Cadence, President of the VSI Alliance SoC industry consortium, and President and CEO of Simutech Corporation. Early in his career, he was a systems engineer at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. He has BSEE and MSEE degrees from Stanford University.
