CMOS
CMOS (Complementary Symmetry Metal Oxide Semiconductor) is an IC process technology developed in the 1960s which typically runs at lower power than bipolar circuitry. Early on, CMOS was much slower than bipolar but has steadily gained in speed over the decades to rival today's bipolar speeds. Most ICs are now made using CMOS technology.
