Embedded system
An embedded system is an application-specific computing system that is designed into a product so invisibly it is not apparent to end users that they are using a computer. Examples are found in automotive anti-lock braking systems, microwave ovens, and automatic dishwashers. The computing processor inside an embedded system typically makes use of a real-time operating system which does not require a waiting period to boot up.
