Meeting the Challenge of Real-Time Video Encoding: Migrating From H.263 to H.264

H.264 is a new standard for improved real-time video encoding. It provides better compression of video images, in part by using variable, small block sizes for motion compensation. This is, however, more computationally intensive, with 41 motion vectors for each one in H.263.
