Silicon Image Appoints New Director and Appoints David Lee as Chairman Emeritus of Silicon Image

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 25, 2005-Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMG), a leader in multi-gigabit semiconductor solutions for the secure transmission and storage of rich digital media, today announced that its board of directors has appointed Darrel Slack, the Company's CFO, as a member of the board of directors effective immediately.  Mr. Slack will serve as a Class I director, whose term will expire at the 2006 annual shareholder meeting.

The Company also announced today that David Lee has decided not to stand for re-election to the Silicon Image board of directors at the 2005 annual shareholder meeting.  Mr. Lee will continue to serve in his current capacity as an executive officer of the Company and the chairman of PanelLink Cinema, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.  In addition, in recognition of his prior contributions and continued importance to the Company, the Board has named David Lee, Chairman Emeritus of Silicon Image.

Mr. Lee stated, "I am committed to continue serving Silicon Image in my current capacity for the foreseeable future, focusing on new initiatives and strategic partnerships that are important to the Company's future success as we drive to deliver secure digital content delivery solutions."

David Hodges, Daniel M.
