Micron Technology And Denali Announce The Availability Of Simulation Models For SyncFlash(tm) MemoryModels simplify integration of new SyncFlash memory technology for system designersBoise, ID -- October 31, 2000 -- Micron Technology, Inc. and Denali Software, Inc. today announced the availability of high-performance simulation models for Micron's recently announced SyncFlash memory devices. The first SyncFlash memory model, for a 1Meg x 16 x 4 banks device, is currently available through Denali. "System designers using new, advanced memory technologies like SyncFlash memory need a way to integrate it into their applications," said Darrell Rinerson, Micron Technology's vice president of Flash Memory Products. "Denali's modeling technology enables our customers to quickly and easily add new Micron memory components to their system-level designs." "Our customers are building the most advanced system designs for consumer, computing, and communication applications," said Sanjay Srivastava, president and CEO of Denali. "Our goal is to give these designers early access to the latest memory technologies, such as Micron's SyncFlash devices, so they can accelerate the memory integration task. With Denali's Memory Modeler and SyncFlash memory models, system designers can integrate SyncFlash devices into their memory subsystems with a high level of confidence that the subsystem will work." Micron is using Denali's SOMATM (Specification of Memory Architecture) language, which supports more than 20 popular simulation tools used by system designers to verify complex designs. The availability of these models enables designers to instantly access the most up-to-date and accurate memory models for system design and verification. SOMA models for Micron's SyncFlash memory components as well as various Flash, SRAM and DRAM components, including DDR-SDRAM and RDRAMTM (RambusTM DRAM), are currently available on both Micron's and Denali's websites:
SOMA provides high-quality memory models to designers of electronic systems and enables the distribution of these models across the Internet. Used with Denali's Memory Modeler product, SOMA offers easy portability of memory component libraries for use across all simulation and verification environments. Denali's software architecture offers a structure for tailoring models to key specifications for all types of memory.
