ARC International Appoints Jonah McLeod Director of Marketing Communications
ELSTREE, England, October 31, 2005 - ARC International plc (LSE: ARK) the world leader in configurable CPU/DSP processor cores and application subsystems, today announced the appointment of Jonah McLeod to the position of Director of Marketing Communications. McLeod, a long time trade publication editor turned marketing communications specialist, brings over two decades of experience to ARC, which is leading the charge to extend the benefits of configurable CPU technology to system-on-chip (SoC) designers globally. McLeod will be responsible for helping raise the industry's appreciation and appetite for configurable CPU technology, as well as the awareness of ARC and its patented configurable cores and subsystems.
"Jonah is another example of the outstanding caliber of semiconductor executives who are joining ARC," said Lee Flanagin, director of corporate marketing. "He has a track record of driving successful communications campaigns for Silicon Valley companies and extensive editorial experience from his tenure as the chief of two prominent industry trade magazines. I am pleased to welcome Jonah to the ARC team." McLeod added, "Configurability is poised for dramatic growth. ARC is leading the way in this technology, which is the next wave in embedded computing. ARC's unique and patented approach to configurable CPUs allows design teams to create proprietary solutions that are highly differentiated, a great advantage in a world of outdated one-size-fits-all architectures." "ARC has made tremendous progress over the past two years to transform itself into the leader in configurability," said Derek Meyer, senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Today, our products ship millions of units annually and our customer base has close to doubled to over 100 licensees. With the addition of professionals such as Jonah to ARC, the reality of our market leadership in configurable computing architectures is sure to gain widespread recognition." As an editor, McLeod rose through the ranks to become Chief Editor first of Electronics magazine at Penton Publishing and later of Integrated System Design and Silicon Strategies magazines. While driving Silicon Strategies, he launched a successful conference of the same name that provided an industry forum for the fledgling Intellectual Property industry. In recent years he served in marketing communications positions most recently at Denali Software Inc., where he launched the successful MemCon conference series. McLeod lives in San Jose and is married with two daughters. He holds a BS in Economics from the University of Texas. While at Electronics magazine in 1991, he received the Jesse H. Neal Award from the American Business Media Association.
