Under the new license, MediaWorks will design future products using Tensilica’s latest advanced Xtensa LX processor technology. MediaWorks employs Xtensa processors in their recently announced groundbreaking MediaFlex™ platform architecture and MW301 Media Processor. The MediaFlex™ platform architecture consists of multiple Tensilica configurable, programmable processors in a heterogeneous processor configuration along with integrated peripherals to create a true highly integrated SOC for multimedia applications. MediaFlex™ currently supports the recording and playback of D1 resolution video at 30 fps, using a wide range of standards including MPEG-4 ASP, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DivX, H.264, and Windows Media Video.
