QUALCOMM Enters Into CDMA Infrastructure Software Products License Agreement With VanuSAN DIEGO -- Jan. 26, 2006-- QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, and Vanu, Inc., a provider of software radio-based wireless infrastructure solutions, today announced that they have signed a worldwide infrastructure software license agreement. Under the terms of the royalty-bearing agreement, QUALCOMM has licensed Vanu certain QUALCOMM patents to develop, manufacture and sell infrastructure software products using CDMA2000(R) technology. "Licensing Vanu demonstrates QUALCOMM's continued commitment to enable a wide variety of competitive suppliers of 3G products worldwide," said Marvin Blecker, president of QUALCOMM Technology Licensing. "This license agreement will enable Vanu to provide portable system software to wireless operators, offering a cost-effective solution for upgrading their existing networks." "This license will enable us to complement our ability to simultaneously implement multiple standards on a single network, offering operators a choice of wireless infrastructure platforms. CDMA2000 technology, combined with our software radio technology, allows us to introduce software products that offer an alternative to bulky, expensive infrastructure hardware."
