VaST Systems Technology Announces Availability of Virtual ARM1136, ARM1156, ARM1176 Processors
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--March 2, 2006--VaST Systems Technology Corporation -- powering embedded design innovation -- today announced the availability of high-performance, high-accuracy software models of the ARM1136(TM), ARM1156(TM) and ARM1176(TM) processors. Virtual processor models are at the heart of the VaST virtual system prototype, a very high performance software simulation-based model of a system-on-chip (SoC). VaST virtual system prototypes are used heavily in the wireless, consumer, telecom and automotive industries.
VaST Virtual Processor Models (VPMs) are fast and cycle accurate, running at speeds of up to 200 MIPS on off-the-shelf PCs. A VaST VPM is cycle-, register- and timing-accurate, and configurable, providing an unprecedented ability to observe the behavior of executing software and selected processor internal registers. "The dominance of ARM(R) processors in the wireless sector, coupled with VaST's growing customer base in wireless, has produced a large demand for VaST's virtual models of the ARM processor families. We expect to see continued growth in this area," said Alain Labat, VaST president and CEO. In addition to the ARM7(TM), ARM9(TM) and ARM11(TM) families of processors, VaST also has modeled a broad selection of other popular processors and DSPs, including those from StarCore, MIPS, Renesas, NEC and Toshiba. About VaST VaST Systems Technology Corporation tools and models enable the creation of a virtual system prototype -- a cycle-accurate software model of a system that operates at near real-time speeds under actual software loads. Solutions from VaST are used for architecture analysis and optimization and for the concurrent development of hardware and software. VaST virtual system prototypes dramatically improve time to market and quality while reducing development costs and risk. Current customers include worldwide leaders in semiconductors, automotive electronics, wireless devices and consumer electronics. VaST is headquartered in Sunnyvale, with sales and support offices worldwide. For more information, visit www.vastsystems.com.
