Industry Leader Joins Tahoe RF Semiconductor; Tom Riordan appointed to seat on Board of Directors
AUBURN, Calif., March 27, 2006 -- Tahoe RF Semiconductor, Inc., the leading wireless Electronic Design Services (EDS) provider, today announced that Tom Riordan has joined its board of directors, joining Larry Larson, Professor at U.C. San Diego; Don Levy, a semiconductor industry veteran; Irshad Rasheed, Tahoe RF's President and CEO; and Chris Saint, Tahoe RF's Vice President of Engineering. Tom's role on the board of directors will be to help guide the company in its next phase of growth.
Tom brings to Tahoe RF a wealth of experience as a proven executive in semiconductors and microprocessors. He guided QED from its founding in 1991 through three rounds of venture financing. After the company went public in 2000, Tom helped negotiate its sale. At that time, QED had reached a $64 million run rate with quarterly growth of 40 percent. ABOUT TOM RIORDAN Tom is currently an entrepreneur in residence (EIR) at Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP) in Menlo Park, CA, evaluating investment opportunities in the semiconductor area. Before joining BVP, he was Vice President of the microprocessor division at PMC-Sierra, the purchaser of Quantum Effect Devices (QED), which he guided from its founding in 1991 through three rounds of venture financing, a successful IPO and sale to PMC-Sierra. Tom holds a B.S. in Engineering, a B.A. in Government, and an M.S. in Engineering, all from Florida Technological University/University of Central Florida, where he was named IEEE Outstanding Senior Student. He has completed post-graduate studies in electrical engineering at Stanford University.
