Sunplus Licenses ARM1176z-S Processor for Advanced Consumer Electronics ApplicationsSunplus Leverages ARM Processor and Development Tools for Digital Cameras and Multimedia Application Processors HSINCHU, Taiwan and CAMBRIDGE, England -- May 16, 2006 -- Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd, an industry-leading consumer IC design company, and ARM, today announced that Sunplus has licensed the ARM1176JZ-S(TM) processor and ARM® RealView® SoC Designer ESL tools, for developing high-performance, low-power integrated circuit (IC) solutions for digital cameras and multimedia handset processors. This licensing agreement further extends Sunplus' existing partnership with ARM, and demonstrates the value that the ARM architecture brings to its Partners for the development of total system solutions for consumer electronics.

The processor is also integrated with Intelligent Energy Manager (IEM(TM)) technology which significantly reduces processor energy consumption.
