Scaleo chip introduces the new easyCAN automotive FLASH microcontroller family
This new family product is dedicated to high performance industrial and automotive systems
Sophia Antipolis -- January 25, 2007. Scaleo chip, the recognized specialist in ARM-based Systems on Chips (SoC), announces today that it has launched the easyCAN automotive FLASH microcontroller family, based on the 32-bit ARM7TDMI-S™ ARM® processor. The easyCAN family is ideal for use in application requiring high performances. It improves the access time and the efficiency of the CPU, an innovative multi bus architecture, a Direct Memory Access Controller and a flash controller with access anticipation to unburden the ARM7TDMI-S processor and maximise the use of its powerful performances to run other tasks at the same time. Thanks to its available integrated functionalities, the easyCAN family reduces the system cost and the development time of equipment manufacturers. For instance, 4 stepper motor controllers with high current drivers, a 32Kbytes data flash memory, 1 MHz ring oscillator, low voltage detector, power on reset, 4 x 40 segments LCD controller … The products are available in 0.18µm Flash CMOS Technology with pin count ranging from 80 to 144 and flash size from 64Kbytes to 1Mbytes and a single 5V supply voltage. Products embed up to 4 Controller Area Networks (compliant with CAN 2.0A and B specification) and up to 3 Local Interconnect Network controllers (compliant with the LIN 1.2 and 2.0 specification). “The new easyCAN family has been developed to meet the specific automotive requirements. Products are AECQ100 qualified in the –40°C + 105 °C temperature range,” declared Daniel Aufaure, Scaleo chip President & CEO. “These are very comprehensive low-cost products which meet the high level automotive expectations (robustness, quality) and profit by the Scaleo chip support and reactivity. Thanks to the most suitable FLASH technology for the automotive environment combining reliable process with innovative and competitive solution, we are able to provide innovative automotive solution with performances, reliability and price,” he added. Three chips are currently available now for mass production in 80, 100 and 144 pins LQFP package.
