Sidense Strengthens Market Position with ViXS License DealUpdate: Synopsys Expands DesignWare IP Portfolio with Acquisition of Sidense Corporation (Oct. 17, 2017) February 23, 2007, Toronto and Ottawa, ON: Sidense, a leading developer of Logic Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) IP cores, today announced that ViXS Systems, the leading developer of video processing and wireless solutions, has licensed Sidense’s SiFuse one-time programmable (OTP) technology to provide secure key storage for its XCodeTM series of video processors. "We continue to license our SiFuse technology to important fabless companies such as ViXS,” said Xerxes Wania, President & CEO, Sidense Corp. “Our technology targets standard-logic CMOS processes and permits the flexibility to program the memory in the field, after packaging. Customers find our wide programming and operating temperatures, built–in redundancy, and the option to program the memory using a single mask equally compelling.” Hugh Chow, COO of ViXS Systems, said, “Building security features into our products is critical for ViXS because our customers demand strict adherence to current security standards, in particular DRM. With Sidense’s SiFuse product, we have one of the best solutions on the market for secure key storage. Sidense’s technology also complements our existing support of industry standards for conditional access and content protection including CableCARD, Microsoft DRM, DLNA and ISDB-T, as well as the two industry standards for high-definition DVD, Blu-rayTM and HD DVD. Sidense technology is compact, secure, robust and power efficient, all of which makes it our preferred solution for embedding secure digital content protection into our XCodeTM series of video processors.” About Sidense Sidense’s SiFuse, based on the company’s 1T-FuseTM technology, is field-programmable, fuse replacement hard IP, available in densities from 128 bits to 128 Kbytes. Currently, SiFuse IP is available in TSMC, SMIC, Chartered Semiconductor and UMC 180nm, 130nm, and 90nm processes. In the future, additional process nodes including 65nm and 45nm will be available from several foundries and Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDMs). Ideal applications include electrical fuse replacement, flash and mask-programmable ROM replacement, code storage, RFID, unique ID, encryption, key storage, HDMI and digital rights management (DRM).
