Dust Networks Integrates Kilopass Memory in New Family of Wireless Sensor Networking ProductsUpdate: Synopsys Expands DesignWare IP Portfolio with Acquisition of Kilopass Technology (Jan. 10, 2018) XPM offers reliable, secure, silicon-proven embedded non-volatile memory for Dust’s code storage and analog trim
Santa Clara, Calif. and Hayward, Calif. – June 13, 2007 – Dust Networks™, the leading provider of highly reliable, low-power wireless sensor networking (WSN) systems, and Kilopass Technology, a leading provider of semiconductor non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), announced today that Kilopass XPM™ memory is being used in Dust Networks’ embedded WSN products. Dust Networks’ SmartMesh-XD Mote-on-Chip™ (MoC) products employ the XPM non-volatile storage for analog tuning and secure storage of proprietary firmware.
Dust Networks’ SmartMesh-XD products combine extremely low-power radio technology and robust networking capabilities with the industry-proven Time Synchronized Mesh Protocol (TSMP) in a MoC, setting new power and performance benchmarks for reliable wireless sensor networking. Dust’s network-ready MoC products provide a quantum reduction in power consumption, using 80 percent less power than comparable commercially available radios. Dust’s products achieve greater than 99.9 percent reliability in the face of harsh RF environments, and battery-operated motes typically live for more than five to ten years. Embedded Kilopass XPM allows for tuning system timing and storing proprietary firmware on chip. About Kilopass Technology Kilopass Technology Inc. was founded with the mission of becoming the industry leader in embedded NVM technology. The company's extra-permanent memory technology is manufactured using standard commercial CMOS logic processes, and is used for storage of firmware and security codes.
