Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Cosmic Circuits (May 23, 2013)
November 2, 2007 -- Bangalore, India --Cosmic Circuits is pleased to announce the availability of its WiMO™ Analog Front End platform for integration onto multi-channel (MIMO) WiFi and WiMax System-on-Chips.
Designed and silicon-tested on the Fujitsu 90nm Low-Leakage process technology, the analog front end brings several features that make it friendly to system-on-chips. Utilizing innovative analog circuit technology suited to nanometer technology nodes, and a digital-friendly architecture that uses minimum number of amplifiers, Cosmic Circuits has achieved a very low die-area solution, for single and multi-channel MIMO configurations.
The AFE platform consists of a dual matched ADC (IQ-ADC), dual matched DAC (IQ-DAC), an auxiliary ADC and DAC for monitoring and control, and a versatile PLL, suitable for portable mobile applications. At low power levels for the receive channel, and with a fast wake-up from standby, it helps extend battery life in portable applications.
Commenting on the solution, Ganapathy Subramaniam, CEO of Cosmic Circuits said that “Our WiMO(TM) AFE platform is optimized for WiFi and WiMax MIMO applications with low die-area, low-power and flexibility. Its inherent digital-friendly architecture uses minimum number of amplifiers even for large MIMO configurations. We offer silicon characterization support and customization for MIMO and single-channel applications” and added that “We are also happy to achieve such a complex level of functionality in the first-pass of the silicon, which is an indication of Cosmic Circuits’ robust design methodology”.
Combined with the Power-ON-SoC power-regulator portfolio from Cosmic Circuits, a complete analog solution that addresses both the power-path and signal-path requirements of wireless customers is a reality now. For more details on the WiMO™ platform, please contact Cosmic Circuits.
