Court Denies Silicon Image's Request to Preliminarily Enjoin Sales of Analogix Semiconductor's HDMI Chips
LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- January 8, 2008 -- Analogix Semiconductor, Inc., a world leader in high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and IP solutions, announced today that the U.S. District Court recently denied Silicon Image, Inc.'s request for a preliminary injunction. Silicon Image had previously asked the Court to order Analogix to stop selling certain of its HDMI chips, claiming that Analogix had misappropriated Silicon Image's alleged trade secrets. The Court denied Silicon Image's request, stating that “the evidence gives rise to serious questions on the merits as to this claim.”
The court's denial of Silicon Image's request means that Analogix is free to continue to sell and support its HDMI interface chips. "We are very pleased with the Court's decision and will continue to deliver our quality HDMI products to the marketplace. The court's ruling reaffirms our belief that Silicon Image's claims against us lack merit,” said Kewei Yang, CEO and Chairman of Analogix Semiconductor. “We believe that fair and open competition in the marketplace, not in the court room, is in the best interests of all parties, most importantly the customers. We look forward to continuing to develop and enhance our HDMI products.” About Analogix Semiconductor Analogix Semiconductor, Inc. designs and manufactures high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors for the Digital Media market.
