ARC Cores Appoints Directors With Processor IP ExpertiseLondon, UK, 5 January 2000 - ARC Cores has made two appointments to its board of directors that add to the company's strength in the intellectual property (IP) and insight into the consumer OEM business. Joining ARC Cores as non-executive directors are former Ericsson vice president Jan Tufvesson and consultant John Stockton, who previously organised the creation of ARM Ltd. out of VLSI Technology.Tufvesson is an independent management consultant based in Stockholm. He brings more than 15 years of management experience. As vice-president at Ericsson, he was responsible for procurement and developing relations with key suppliers, such as microelectronics and IP vendors. Prior to joining Ericsson, he gained a Master?s degree in electronic engineering from Stockholm?s Royal University of Technology, and worked in senior posts with the Royal Swedish Air Force. John Stockton is a seasoned entrepreneurial professional in technology businesses. With a Bachelor?s degree in engineering science, he worked in engineering at Applied Research Laboratories before joining Motorola in technical marketing and business planning roles. He then joined VLSI, where he co-founded the company?s PC products business and organised the creation of UK-based processor design and licensing company Advanced RISC Machines (ARM). Subsequently, Stockton has held a range of board positions with high-technology start-up companies.
