IPextreme Celebrates First Anniversary of Core StoreOnline store changes the paradigm for IP buyers Silicon Valley, CA – January 21, 2009 – IPextreme®, Inc., the company bringing famous IP (intellectual property) to system-on-chip designers worldwide, is celebrating the first anniversary of the launch of its Core Store™, the breakthrough online store for semiconductor IP. Within the first year of its operation, Core Store has changed the way companies are buying semiconductor IP. IPextreme has shipped more than 35 ColdFire® microprocessor cores through the Core Store along with a rich selection of AMBA™ peripherals to companies all over the world. Traffic to Core Store has increased at a compound rate of 40% per month since it was launched in January 2008. In addition, dozens of companies have utilized the Core Store to purchase CoReUse™ Foundation eBooks, which provides an enterprise-class design reuse methodology to develop and use semiconductor IP. Customers visiting the web store can view available IP cores and pricing without any complicated legal and price negotiations. When customers are ready to purchase, they sign a standard license agreement and are on their way to having IP delivered to their desktop through IPextreme’s XPack™ delivery portal. All Core Store products come in an easy-to-use package and with support available as an optional purchase item. The cores are offered at attractive prices made possible by the completeness of the packaging and the frictionless sales process. IPextreme partnerships with leading semiconductor companies such as Cypress Semiconductor, Freescale, Infineon, Motorola, National Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors and Texas Instruments has unlocked some of the industry’s crown jewels for licensing by the entire semiconductor community. The Core Store has enabled innovative and strategic initiatives such as the offering of the free V1 ColdFire Processor for Altera® Cyclone® III and NXP’s CoReUse methodology. “Customers and vendors alike are very pleased with the success of this breakthrough technology for packaging, ordering, delivering, and supporting IP,” said Rick Tomihiro, vice president of marketing for IPextreme. “The whole model has been working so well that we were able to use it to deliver the free program by which Altera Cyclone III users can license the ColdFire V1 core. With the use of third-party IP increasing in SoCs, we expect to continue to expand our offerings on Core Store.” About IPextreme Inc.
