MIPS Technologies Appoints Semiconductor Industry Veteran Art Swift as Vice President of Marketing
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – March 23, 2009 – MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NasdaqGS: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard architectures, processors and analog IP for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications, announced it has named Art Swift as vice president of marketing, reporting to MIPS President and CEO John Bourgoin. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing and executive management for semiconductor and processor IP companies, Swift will lead marketing efforts for MIPS Technologies’ global IP business.

Prior to Transmeta, Swift was COO at embedded software provider Lynuxworks and vice president and general manager of several large divisions of chipmaker Cirrus Logic. He also held senior marketing, business development and engineering positions with Summit Microelectronics, Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment, Bipolar Integrated Technology, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Swift holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is co-inventor of three U.S. patents relating to programmable logic architectures.
