TranSwitch to Unveil Latest High Definition Video Interconnect Technology at 2010 International CESTranSwitch to Unveil Latest High Definition Video Interconnect Technology at 2010 International CES® New HDMI 1.4 IP Cores Deliver Rates over 10Gbps, Enabling 3D and Extended Resolution Displays SHELTON, Conn. -- Jan 04, 2010 -- TranSwitch® Corporation (NASDAQ: TXCC), a leading provider of semiconductor solutions for the converging data, video and voice wireline and wireless networks, will formally introduce its latest High Definition Multimedia Interface™ (HDMI) for next generation digital television (DTV) and home theatre applications at the 2010 International CES trade show being held in Las Vegas from January 7-10, 2010. The HD-PXL™-1.4 includes 3D Video and support for new 4K super resolution displays. Tapping into the robust demand for affordable high performance video, the capabilities of TranSwitch’s latest HDMI technology enable mass market consumption of electronics products offering unparalleled television viewing experiences that also bring cutting edge video games to life. “Our new HD-PXL-1.4 cores have a major performance advantage over competitors who do not support the full suite of features included in the HDMI 1.4 specification or the maximum data rate that is required to support all extended resolutions,” said Amir Bar-Niv, Vice President for Systems and Applications at TranSwitch Corporation. “The transmitter and receiver HD-PXL-1.4 cores are available today in the TSMC 65nm process, and to round out our platform we intend to release 40nm version later this year. In addition, we plan to introduce an HDMI 1.4 Ethernet Channel (HEC) offering based on our widely deployed industry standard Ethernet PHY IP cores,” concluded Bar-Niv. The new HD-PXL-1.4 transmitter and receiver cores incorporate all of the features in the HDMI 1.4 specifications including the Audio Return Channel (ARC) which eliminates the need for separate audio cables between the television set and the Home Theatre equipment, HDCP version 1.4 and a full range of expanded color spaces. TranSwitch has been a leading provider of high speed PHY IPs for over 12 years, providing intellectual property to some of the world’s largest semiconductor companies. TranSwitch will be demonstrating its HD-PXL-1.4 technology and other technologies for digital video and audio applications at the 2010 International CES show, January 7-10 at the Las Vegas Hilton. TranSwitch invites attendees to visit its display in Suite 336, as well as on the show floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the HDMI Tech Zone - 20407H. In addition to the new HD-PXL-1.4 technology, the TranSwitch demonstrations will include its innovative HDP core which combines HDMI and DisplayPort™ capabilities in a single PHY, enabling system manufacturers to support either standard.
