Mindspeed Achieves LTE Standards Compliance for Transcede Reference Software Using Agilent Technologies' SystemVue EnvironmentTranscede Processor’s 4G Wireless Baseband Libraries Have Been Verified for Layer 1 Compliance NEWPORT BEACH, Calif.-- March 22, 2010 --Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MSPD), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, today announced that the company’s reference software for its recently introduced Transcede™ baseband processor has been verified for compliance with the latest long-term evolution (LTE) Layer 1 standard 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) TS 36.141. Mindspeed used the Agilent Technologies’ SystemVue design environment to model the baseband processing algorithms and create a standard verification test suite that enabled it to quickly develop and deploy its reference software, which Transcede customers can use to dramatically accelerate time to market for LTE basestation equipment. “Mindspeed is excited to collaborate with Agilent and use the SystemVue platform in the development of both our LTE and WiMAX™ basestation reference PHY libraries for the Transcede wireless baseband processor,” said Bob Buckley, vice president of carrier product development for Mindspeed. “The SystemVue platform, with its wireless libraries and graphical interface, enables the Mindspeed design team to rapidly verify PHY algorithms from the component level through to the full system, and to quickly and efficiently generate test vectors with very complex usage models. It will give our customers great comfort to know that the Transcede 4000 basestation reference WiMAX and LTE PHY algorithms are continuously tested for standards compliance against Agilent's SystemVue reference.” “Agilent has worked closely with Mindspeed, who was an early adopter of our SystemVue platform and our W1913 WiMAX and W1912 LTE baseband exploration libraries. Today we recognize the Mindspeed® Transcede 4000 device as an industry-leading application SoC for WiMAX and LTE basestation baseband processing,” said Jian Yang, ESL Integrating Manager for Agilent EEs of EDA, Agilent. “We are proud to participate in the design and verification of such revolutionary products.” The Transcede family of system-on-chip (SoCs) integrates an unprecedented 26 programmable processors into a single device, including two ARM® Cortex A9® multi-core symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) reduced instruction set computer (RISC) processors, 10 CEVA® DSPs and 10 DSP accelerators that support the complete wideband code-division multiple access (W-CDMA), LTE or WiMAX (Layers 1, 2 and above) processing needs of single- and multi-sector base stations. Transcede family SoCs can deliver three sectors of LTE processing in a single device, while still providing substantial processing headroom, allowing manufactures to deploy their own value-added features as part of an overall Transcede-based solution. Availability The Transcede LTE and WiMAX reference software is sampling now and will be generally available to customers in June 2010.
