Zoran Selects Kilopass' XPM Non-Volatile Memory for Products Manufactured Using Advanced Low-Power ProcessUpdate: Synopsys Expands DesignWare IP Portfolio with Acquisition of Kilopass Technology (Jan. 10, 2018) Kilopass’ IP is proven in high-volume production in two process generations with third in preparation for volume production for Zoran’s home entertainment IC products Santa Clara, Calif., July 28, 2010 – Kilopass Technology Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor logic non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), today announced that Zoran Corporation, a leading provider of digital solutions in digital entertainment and digital imaging markets, has licensed the company’s XPM™ non-volatile memory (NVM) IP solution for use in its latest advanced low-power fabrication process generation. A repeat Kilopass customer for three successive process generations, Zoran integrates Kilopass’ NVM IP in its home entertainment IC products. “We have been in mass production with Kilopass’ XPM since 2005,” said Peter Trajmar, Zoran Director of DTV VLSI Engineering. “We are pleased with the quality and reliability of their pioneering logic CMOS antifuse technology, as well as their customer support. With advanced process technologies requiring a higher R&D investment, it is crucial that the IP deliver right silicon the first time. Kilopass IP has continued to prove its value.” Kilopass embedded NVM is implemented in standard CMOS so it can follow the advanced process roadmap very closely. Kilopass is able to leverage the foundry reliability data including time-dependent dielectric breakdown (TDDB), electro migration, and high-temperature storage data to bring IP to market faster. It does not need to reinvent the basic devices in each process generation. Yield matches the foundry process, and quality and reliability are guaranteed through the rigorous characterization and qualification of XPM™. “We are pleased with our strong partnership with Zoran,” said Lee Cleveland, Kilopass VP of Engineering, “and we are committed to enabling leading-edge embedded NVM solutions for our customers. The scalability of our antifuse technology and the flexibility of our design architecture enable us to quickly bring XPM to market to fill the needs of early adopters of advanced technology nodes.” Kilopass continues to be the embedded NVM leader in advanced process technologies in both bulk and silicon on insulator (SOI). Kilopass has products qualified down to 40nm and is working on high-K/metal gate (HKMG) development. About Kilopass Kilopass Technology, Inc., a leading supplier of embedded NVM intellectual property, leverages standard logic CMOS processes to deliver one-time programmable (OTP) memory. With 54 patents granted or pending and more than 500,000 wafers shipped from a dozen foundries and Integrated Device Manufacturers (IDM), Kilopass has more than 70 customers in applications ranging from storage of firmware and security codes to calibration data and other application-critical information. The company is headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif. For more information, please visit www.kilopass.com.
