Elecard releases Elecard Codec SDK G4 v1.3.2 with implemented full DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) support for AVC/H.264 formatTOMSK, RUSSIA – AUGUST 10, 2010 – Elecard Devices CJSC, a leading developer of codecs and products for digital video, today announced the release of Elecard Codec SDK G4 v1.3.2, a line of software development kits for creating digital video encoding and playback applications using Elecard components within the Microsoft® DirectShow® technology. Elecard Codec SDK G4 v1.3.2 comes with full hardware-accelerated DXVA support for the AVC/H.264 format and many new features and improvements unavailable in the previous versions. Elecard is always trying to meet ever-growing demands of its clients by exploiting the latest technological achievements of multimedia compression industry coupled with proven expertise of the company’s development team. In this latest version of Elecard Codec SDK G4, developers have implemented full support of the leading DirectX® Video Acceleration (DXVA) technology for AVC/H.264, one of the most popular video signal encoding formats. The process of AVC/H.264 decoding is time and CPU-consuming and requires high performance hardware. DXVA support makes it possible to offload certain CPU-intensive operations to GPU and thus speed up the whole process of video decoding. It will allow developers using Elecard Codec SDK G4 to embed the advanced support for HD-DVD and Blu-Ray into their software and considerably enhance its performance. “We are always trying to keep up with current market demands by constantly improving our software and developing new and progressive multimedia encoding and decoding technologies,” says Dmitry Gurulev, Head of Codec Development Department for Elecard Devices. “The latest version of Elecard Codec SDK G4 with hardware-accelerated DXVA support for the AVC/H.264 format is going to help our clients not only save the time that they would spend on the development of their own software, but also eliminate the need for buying additional hardware by saving CPU time.” Elecard AAC Audio Decoder/Encoder and MPEG Audio Decoder/Encoder components that deliver outstanding audio quality have been updated and now support Microsoft® Windows® 7, which is becoming more and more popular these days. AAC and MPEG Audio Decoders now have an audio channel mixing feature, which downmixes a multi-channel input signal into a multi-channel output signal, and allows getting a number of output channels different than a number of input ones. Elecard Codec SDK G4 1.3.2 base classes and sample applications support Microsoft® Visual Studio® 2008, which considerably simplifies software developing and debugging. NWPlayer, the updated sample application of the Ñ++ edition of Elecard Codec SDK G4, can now show several video streams in one multiplexed stream and play them together or separately. Compatibility with Kasenna® and Anevia® servers in Elecard RTSP NetSource has been greatly enhanced, while the memory utilization has been reduced. Elecard Codec SDK G4 v1.3.2 and many other top-notch professional and amateur multimedia software products will be shown at IBC 2010, an annual broadcasting exhibition and a leading international forum for the electronic media industry, attracting over 1000 exhibitors from more than 130 countries.
