Toshiba Chooses Ultra Low Power ARM Cortex-M0 ProcessorSeptember 10, 2010 -- Toshiba Corporation has licensed the ARM® Cortex™-M0 processor. The Cortex-M0 processor was chosen as it offered significant technical advantages, a broad ecosystem software development tools support, and a future proof solution through upwards compatibility with the Cortex-M family. Toshiba has been an ARM Partner since 1999 and the Cortex-M0 processor will complement the Toshiba’s TX03 Cortex-M3 processor-based microcontroller series which was launched in 2008. “It is a fantastic testimony to the success of the Cortex-M processor series that leading device designers like Toshiba are adopting the Cortex-M processors for their future designs,” said Eric Schorn, VP marketing, Processor Division, ARM. The Cortex-M0 processor is the lowest power and smallest 32-bit ARM processor.
