Google asks partners to pause TVPeter Clarke, EETimes LONDON – Google Inc. has asked consumer electronics companies that were preparing to launch TVs running the Android-based Google TV to put their plans on hold while it improves the software, according to a New York Times article. Google TV, intended to be the merger of broadcast TV reception with Internet interactivity, was launched in the fall, to luke-warm reviews, on boxes from Logitech and Sony. A number of mainstream TV suppliers including Toshiba, LG and Sharp were expected to launch Google TVs at the Consumer Electronics Show, coming up in January 2011.
