Magillem announces that Magillem Platform Assembly solution is now supporting OCP Vendor Extension for IEEE 1685 IP-XACTGrenoble-DATE-March, 15 2011 — Magillem, the leading provider of platform solutions to cover design-flow challenges of complex systems, today announces that Magillem Platform Assembly solution is now supporting OCP Vendor Extension for IEEE 1685 IP-XACT. A great accomplishment has been achieved the last two years in the standard committees, allowing Virtual Platform and RTL integration in the same tool and environment, thanks to a technical combination of XML technology used in IP-XACT and OCP Vendor Extension. Parameterization and configuration of all OCP components can be used now for an unambiguous automation in robust and expandable IP-XACT tools and flows. IP providers and design integrators have now more flexibility with an IP-XACT description using OCP configuration mechanism. Architects teams, Verification teams and DFT teams can exchange and share information using a single database. Bus interfaces can be now configured and verified at once in the Magillem environment. Checks and protocol configuration are provided and can be retrieved along with the bus definition on the official web site www.ocpip.org. “OCP-IP's Metadata Working Group is comprised of leading companies who have delivered a way to describe configurable bus interfaces in machine readable XML structure in an IEEE standard format. The Open Core Protocol is such an example," said Ian Mackintosh, president and chairman of OCP-IP. "We are pleased to see the work of the OCP-IP Metadata Working Group leveraging IEEE 1685 being implemented in real-world products like Magillem's OVE." About Magillem Not just another EDA vendor, Magillem is an enabler of production level IP-Reuse-based design method and the leading provider of IEEE 1685 (IP-XACT) compliant tools and services. Magillem has developed an easy to use, state of the art platform solution to cover electronic systems design flow challenges in a context where complexity, interoperability and design re-use are becoming critical issues to manage design cycle time of SOC. Magillem Design Services SA was established in November 2006 and privately funded by a group of 8 co-founders: engineers and business angels. Magillem is now a public company traded on the Euronext Free Market. Company is headquartered in Paris, France, with offices in Bristol, UK, New York, USA, Tokyo, Japan. Magillem has a long list of first tier active customers: Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, ST Microelectronics, NXP (ex- Philips semiconductors), ST-ERICSSON, Sonics, ESA, Thales, Thomson, EADS … Magillem is a member of CADENCE System Realization Alliance, of OCP-IP, the ARM Connected Community, and a Board Member of ACCELERA. About OCP-IP OCP-IP is dedicated to proliferating a common standard for intellectual property (IP) core interfaces, or sockets that facilitate "plug and play" System-on-Chip (SoC) design. Making complex SoC design more efficient for the widest audience, the industry strongly supports the Open Core Protocol as the universal complete socket standard, regardless of on chip architecture or which processor cores are featured. The benefits of a standard socket for SoC design are numerous and are discussed in several places on our site. About IEEE 1685 (IP-XACT) IP-XACT is an undisputed worldwide XML format that defines and describes electronic components and their designs. IP-XACT was created by the SPIRIT Consortium, now part of Accellera, as a standard to enable automated configuration and integration through tools. 120 industrial companies and organizations are members! The goals of the standard are:
