Virtual Silicon Offers PLL Compiler for TSMCSUNNYVALE, Calif., - March 18, 2002 - Virtual Silicon Technology, Inc., a leader in semiconductor intellectual property, today announced the availability of its PLL Compiler on TSMC 0.18mm (CL018G and CL018LV) and 0.13mm (CL013G and CL018LV) process technologies. The PLL Compilers are available on Virtual Silicon's Web site (www.virtual-silicon.com). "Virtual Silicon invented the world's first PLL Compiler in 2000." said John Ford, vice president of marketing at Virtual Silicon. "Since then it has been successfully used in three different process geometries, at pure play foundries and IDMs, to produce nearly 50 PLL instances in dozens of SoC designs. Designers have saved a tremendous amount of time and benefited from consistent, first pass success, PLL design". The PLL compilers feature programmable input frequencies up to 200 MHz and output frequencies up to 1 GHz. Long term jitter is under 1% (100 ns). The compilers have integrated loop filters and oscillators and fit completely within the I/O ring, resulting in zero overhead in the core. Designers can use the Web Instance Generators on Virtual Silicon's Web site to evaluate different configurations for optimal solution.
