Nazomi Awarded Second Patent for Its Acceleration Solutions for Java™ PlatformsPatent #6,338,160 Boosts Functionality of JA108, JSTAR™ and JSMARTEmbedded Systems Conference, SAN FRANCISCO - March 13, 2002 - Nazomi Communications Inc., the inventor of universal and scalable Java solutions for boosting the performance of software running on the Java Platform, today unveiled its first silicon IC product, the JA108. The new Java accelerator chip targets mobile wireless applications, such as 2G/2.5G/3G phones, and it improves Java software execution while extending battery life. The JA108 is the first in a series of product offerings under Nazomi's new KChip™ product line. Nazomi Communications Inc., the inventor of universal and scalable solutions for boosting the performance of software running on the Java Platform, today announced the receipt of a second patent. United States Patent #6,338,160 has been granted for the company's "Constant Pool Resolution Method". The innovation gives Nazomi's acceleration solutions for the Java platform significant advantages over current software methods, and the patented technology is now available in the company's newly released JA108 Universal Accelerator chip for the Java platform, and its JSTAR™ and JSMART Coprocessor technologies. Mukesh Patel, president and CEO of Nazomi said, "At Nazomi we are continuing to offer the industry's leading portfolio of high performance, low power universal acceleration solutions for the Java platform. With the technology featured in our newest patent, we are providing Internet appliance and wireless handset developers with outstanding acceleration for their Java applications." Patel continued, "As Nazomi is committed to delivering leading-edge, easy-to-use technology, we continue to heavily invest in research and development. Accordingly, we are pleased to provide to customers the technology from our patent today and look forward to unveiling more innovations, from additional pending patents, in the years to come." This patent describes Nazomi's newest technology as Constant Pool Reference Resolution Method. Today, in the Java programming language, when executing instructions such as "invoke instruction," a considerable amount of time is spent resolving the reference in the constant pool. The advantage of the present invention is that it is not required to write the bytecode over with another value, such as a quick bytecode. Thus, the bytecode could be run from read-only memory.
