ControlNet Releases IEEE 1394 Verification IP for OpenVera Hardware VerificationDesign and Verification Service Company Provides IP for High-Speed Serial Bus Standard CAMPBELL, Calif., April 15, 2002--ControlNet India Pvt. Ltd., a leading provider of electronic integrated circuit (IC) and software development services, announced the immediate availability of IEEE 1394 OpenVera™ verification intellectual property (IP). This verification IP provides pre-verified, standards-compliant, plug and play OpenVera modules that cut down overall verification time for engineers using Synopsys, Inc.'s (Nasdaq:SNPS) VERA® testbench solution to validate IEEE 1394-based designs. "As a provider of design and software services for complex ASICS, we have broad experience with some of the most widely used protocols," says P. Sridhar, CEO of ControlNet India. "Our membership in the OpenVera Catalyst Program enables us to use our expertise in design and verification to satisfy the rapidly growing demand for verification IP solutions for the OpenVera user community. Our OpenVera verification IP lets users generate IEEE 1394 compliant stimulus quickly, enabling them to find more design errors in less time." IEEE 1394 link-layer OpenVera models support the full functionality of the IEEE 1394a-2000 and IEEE 1394b standards. The verification IP provides randomized command and data generation, auto response generation and coverage modules for monitoring protocol violations. The verification IP interfaces to a stand alone 1394 PHY layer or to any other device that incorporates the PHY layer. "Contributions from companies such as ControlNet are essential to the growth of OpenVera," said Jim Watts, OpenVera program manager, at Synopsys, Inc. "Synopsys launched the Catalyst Program last September to accelerate the creation and availability of OpenVera verification IP. The program complements Synopsys Professional Services' existing design and verification offerings by expanding the services and IP options available to customers for meeting their system-on-chip (SoC) verification challenges. ContolNet's IEEE 1394 verification IP is a welcome addition to the growing portfolio of verification IP solution available for OpenVera." Key features of ControlNet's OpenVera verification IP are:
