PTSC announces availability of 0.18 micron IGNITE™Silicon Available as Result of Alliance with QThink SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2002--PTSC (Patriot Scientific Corp.) (OTCBB:PTSC - news) will have available within the next two months a .18 micron silicon version of its IGNITE(TM) microprocessor technology. This product announcement is the result of an alliance with QThink, a leading San Diego engineering services company. The new alliance between PTSC and QThink was announced in March. Jeff Wallin, PTSC's CEO stated, ``While the IGNITE technology, in an intellectual property form, has been available for several months to support the fabrication of silicon, an actual foundry run will afford PTSC's customers more rapid and cost efficient integration of this 32 bit technology into their products. This is the first of several critical steps in supporting the momentum that is driving the IGNITE technology into products. The success of IGNITE rests with its unusually high speed and small code footprint.'' ``The significance of this step,'' stated Dr. Patrick Nunally, PTSC's CTO, ``is that now our customers can simply use IGNITE technology in a silicon state to test their system on a chip, SOC, solutions and can operate at the anticipated speed without concerning themselves with timing variability within the processor. In competitive analysis, customers are currently validating the significant speed, power and memory efficiency of the IGNITE technology over the industry's leading embedded cores.'' ``With this acceleration of our product development roadmap, by the first quarter of 2003, we plan to release a .09 micron process. This process will yield a clock speed of 800MHz,'' stated Joey Maitra, PTSC's V.P. of Engineering. ``We are also anticipating the imminent release of information that will make this core, or intellectual property, more readily available to those engineers and companies who wish to examine the core in their own systems,'' he concluded. About PTSC IGNITE is a trademark owned by PTSC.
