ARM still struggling with Win 8 devicesSylvie Barak, EETimes By all accounts, this year’s Computex Taipei wasn’t an earth shattering event. No major news, and no huge announcements, though there were a steady slew of new Ultrabook designs from Asus, Acer and Toshiba. Despite the underwhelming news value of this year’s show, however, there was something to be gleaned from all the thin-and-light talk, with many observers noting that convertible Ultrabooks could, arguably, provide the best opportunity to combat the growing popularity of the iPad with a mainstream OS (Win 8) and a differentiated form factor (tablet and clamshell). |
