Evatronix NAND Flash Controller now available with SafeFTL from HCC EmbeddedUpdate: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Evatronix IP Business (Jun 13, 2013) NAND Flash IP developer Evatronix and embedded Flash software designer HCC join forces to provide embedded application engineers with an optimized solution. Bielsko-Biala, Poland/Budapest, Hungary, – August 16th, 2012 - Evatronix SA, provider of NAND Flash digital and A/MS IP solutions together with HCC Embedded, one of the leading experts in deployment of platform software, announced today availability of its fail-safe Flash Translation Layer, SafeFTL software optimized specifically for the Evatronix NAND Flash controller IP. The idea behind the cooperation was to merge the security of the fail-safe FTL provided by HCC and the high-performance of the NAND Flash controller IP developed by Evatronix. The result is a fast, secure solution ready to be implemented in all NAND Flash-based SoCs. “Close cooperation between HCC Embedded and Evatronix resulted in a solution of performance and reliability that could not have been achieved otherwise,” said Arkadiusz Buchalik, Memory Controllers Product Line Manager at Evatronix. “Embedded application designers will now have at their disposal the solution that they will be able to tailor to their most specific needs, from both hardware and software sides.” The Evatronix NAND Flash Controller IP is one of the most configurable memory controllers in the market, supports memory devices from all major vendors – Micron, Toshiba and Samsung. The controller features numerous performance enhancements, like an effective Error Correction Code, hardware support for Bad Block Management, scatter-gather DMA, Super Sequence and Command queue. For seamless integration into the customer’s SoC, the controller supports AMBA AXI/AHB, PLB and Avalon system buses. HCC’s Fast Flash Translation Layer provides a high-performance solution that allows developers to interface to any Flash-based media. SafeFTL presents a simple logical sector interface to an application, such as a file system, and manages the underlying complexity in an efficient manner. When used in a correctly designed system the integrity of the file system and its data are guaranteed. David Brook, Director of Marketing for HCC Embedded said, “Embedded applications are used in many commercially or mission critical situations and it is paramount that developers of hardware and software cooperate to ensure developers have access to robust solutions.” ABOUT EVATRONIX Evatronix develops digital and mixed-signal Intellectual Property (IP) cores with complementary software and supporting application environments.
