Parthus Technolologies and Telematix Corporation announce a Strategic Partnership for Developing and Marketing Wireless LAN TechnologySan Jose, Calif. - April 25, 2002- Parthus Technologies (Nasdaq: PRTH, LSE: PRH), a leading provider of platform-level intellectual property targeting the mobile Internet, and Telematix Corporation, a leading provider of multi-protocol wireless networking technology, today announced a strategic partnership to develop and market wireless networking intellectual property for the 802.11 WLAN market. As part of the partnership, Parthus will exploit Telematix' unique packet processing technology, called PacketGenie™, which has been optimised for IEEE 802.11 multi-protocol wireless networking applications. Leveraging PacketGenie™ greatly reduces the chip size and power dissipation of 802.11 Integrated Circuits. Kevin Fielding, president of Parthus said; "Telematix' PacketGenie™ technology offers compelling advantages in being able to offer multi-protocol wireless solution, such as 802.11g and Hyper-LAN, with a fraction of silicon size and power dissipation of existing approaches. We are pleased to leverage this technology which we believe will be key in Parthus establishing leadership in the 802.11 W-LAN market, building on our number one position in Bluetooth W-LAN." Raheel Khan, CEO of Telematix Corporation said; "We are very excited about our strategic partnership with Parthus Technologies. Parthus not only provides Telematix with global reach, but we believe their market leadership in Bluetooth and GPS IP will hasten the establishment of PacketGenie™ as the bench-mark solution for WLAN IP technology." ### About 802.11 802.11 is a family of specifications for wireless local area networks (WLANs) developed by a working group of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). There are currently three specifications in the family: 802.11, 802.11a and 802.11b. The most recently proposed standard, 802.11g (which will be added late this year), offers wireless transmission in the 2.4 GHz ISM band at data rates up to 54 megabits per second (Mbps) compared with the 11 megabits per second of the 802.11b standard.
