Mysticom Appoints Robert Frostholm to Head Worldwide SalesDynamic Leader With Successful 30-Year Career Will Spearhead Mysticom's Sales Effort to Establish a Leadership Position in the Communication IC Market MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 6, 2002 – Mysticom Ltd., a premier supplier of integrated circuits (ICs) for data communications, today announced the appointment of Robert Frostholm as vice president of worldwide sales. With a 30-year career in sales and marketing at both large Fortune 500 companies and emerging start-ups, Frostholm is a highly qualified individual who will help build the sales infrastructure needed to address the growing demand for Mysticom's communications IC products. Prior to Mysticom, Bob was president of Power X Networks, a switch fabric semiconductor supplier. He has also held executive-level and management positions with SEEQ technology (acquired by LSI Logic), Philips Semiconductor and Siliconix. While at SEEQ, he directed sales and marketing activities for the company's Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet product lines. At Philips, he was instrumental in positioning the company as a premier semiconductor supplier in North America for sound and vision, multimedia PC and communications applications. Under his direction, the company's revenue increased 20 percent per year. Reporting directly to Dr. David Almagor, founder, president and CEO, Frostholm will provide high-level leadership and direction for the company's growing sales network, which already includes offices and personnel in California, New Hampshire, Taiwan, The Netherlands and Israel. He will be based at Mysticom's sales and marketing headquarters in Mountain View, Calif. "Robert is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of our business, the market and our customer's requirements," said Almagor. "His direction will enable Mysticom to take advantage of new business opportunities and develop efficient sales channels and processes. He is exactly the type of individual we need to secure a leadership position in the communications IC market." Mysticom has applied its knowledge of complex digital-signal processing (DSP) and mixed-signal design techniques to enable high-bandwidth, accurate data transmission in networking and backplane applications. The recent introduction of the first members of a Gigabit (1G) Ethernet PHY family, and a 10G Ethernet and backplane transceiver family, makes Mysticom one of the only suppliers who has been capable of delivering a solution for every Ethernet transmission speed. In addition, the company's 10 Gigabit backplane transceiver delivers the lowest power and bit-error rate in the industry. This comprehensive, high-performance product line enables high-speed, accurate data transmission in enterprise local area network systems, as well as systems for metropolitan and wide area networks. "Mysticom has demonstrated significant momentum over the past year with new funding, new products, and a significantly expanded sales organization," said Frostholm. "These tools will enable me to attract and motivate talented individuals, forge key customer and partner relationships and deliver on the company's aggressive sales goals. In addition, my broad experience in global markets will enable me to strategically direct the company's expansion into new markets and geographies." Mysticom recently raised a round of funding totaling $28 million, bringing total funding to date to $42 million. Last month, the company opened three new sales offices. About Mysticom # # # |
